How to connect and start selling
Connect AOV.ai Bundles Upsell to Joy Subscriptions and set up your first volume bundle in a few steps.
Before you start
Make sure you have:
- Joy Subscriptions installed on your Shopify store
- AOV.ai Bundles Upsell installed on your Shopify store
- At least one active subscription plan in Joy Subscriptions
Connect the integration
Open Joy Subscriptions and go to Settings, then Integrations, then AOV.ai Bundles Upsell. The setup runs in three steps.
Step 1: Download AOV.ai Bundles Upsell. If you have not installed it yet, install AOV.ai Bundles Upsell from the Shopify App Store. Once installed, use Refresh to confirm it is detected.
Step 2: Connect to Joy Subscriptions. Select Connect to link AOV.ai with Joy. When connected, the status changes to Connected and your bundles and discounts will sync with subscriptions.
Step 3: Set up volume for products. Configure the quantity-based discounts you want to offer on your subscription products (details below).
Set up volume for products
Choose applicable products. Select Browse, pick a subscription plan, then choose the products inside it that you want to offer as bundles. Volume discounts apply only to products that already have a subscription plan.
Create discount tiers. Each tier is one quantity option (for example Buy 1, Buy 2, Buy 3). For each tier you can set:
- Product quantity and discount value (%)
- Title and Subtitle shown to the customer (for example "Most popular")
- An optional badge with your own text (for example "Best value")
- An optional gift attached to the tier
Use Add tier to offer more quantity options.
Set the default option. Select Set as default on the tier you want pre-selected when the product page loads. That tier shows a Default option badge, and customers see it selected first.
Preview before you publish. The preview on the right shows exactly what customers will see, and updates live as you edit. Switch between mobile and desktop views, and if a product has variants, change the variant to see prices update.
Turn on the widget in AOV.ai
After connecting in Joy Subscriptions, open AOV.ai and enable the AOV.ai Embed app and widget on your storefront so the combined widget appears on your product pages.
Tips and best practices
- Start with your best sellers. Apply a bundle and a subscription plan to the consumables customers already reorder most.
- Match bundle size to delivery frequency. If delivery is monthly, offer a bundle that lasts about a month so the offer feels natural.
- Leave subscription-only products as they are. Products without a bundle keep using the Joy Subscriptions widget automatically.
- Test both cases before going live. Check one product with a bundle plus subscription, and one subscription-only product, to confirm the right widget appears.
- Stack the savings. The bundle discount and the subscription discount combine, giving customers a strong reason to buy more and commit long term.
